Ellen DeGeneres Moves To UK Permanently after Trump’s return as President of USA, a new Beginning
American TV personality Ellen DeGeneres moved to UK to start a new life. During a public event in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, she revealed the reason that she had decided to move to the UK the day after Donald Trump was elected president.
Ellen said she and her wife Portia de Rossi had initially planned to spend a few months or a year here in the UK. But later they decided to permanently settle in UK as the political climate in the US changed. “We arrived here the day before the election, and the next morning we got messages from friends saying Trump had won. That’s when we decided—we’ll stay here,” she said.
Ellen Likes Living the Rural Life in The UK
Ellen and Portia have bought a beautiful house in the Cotswolds. Their new house is surrounded by natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere. On social media, Ellen often shares glimpses of her farm animals and rural life. She looks extremely happy in the pictures she shares on social media.

“The natural beauty here is amazing. The villages, the towns, the architecture—everything is lovely. The animals are treated well, the people are polite. Life is simple and peaceful here,” Ellen said.
Ellen’s Concerns over Gay Rights In America
Ellen expressed concern about gay marriage rights in the US. “If our rights are taken away in America, we will get married again in Britain,” she said, referring to the Southern Baptist Convention’s efforts to overturn gay marriage.
She also admitted that being gay in Hollywood is still a big challenge today. “Many celebrities I know don’t come out openly because it’s still a problem. People are scared,” she said.
“Does being outspoken mean I’m evil?” Ellen responds to workplace controversies
Ellen’s long-running talk show was shut down due to allegations of a toxic workplace environment. On the issue, she said, “I am straightforward and outspoken. Does that mean I am mean? I don’t think so. I am a kind person, but people have misrepresented my image.”
She further said that women are always expected to be “sweet and polite”, and if they don’t, they are labelled “rude”.
“Will Ellen start a new talk show in the UK?” Future plans
Ellen misses her show a lot, but feels that the same format will not work in today’s digital era where people prefer to spend more time on phones rather than on watching TV shows. “People are more busy on their phones now. TV shows are not the same anymore,” she said.
However, she is open to doing something new in the future. “I have been spending time with the chickens, but I am getting a bit bored now. It’s time to do something new,” she quipped.
A new Beginning, new Hopes for Ellen DeGeneres
Ellen DeGeneres has started a new chapter by choosing Britain as her new home. Political turmoil, the fight for gay rights and new career twists—her story is much bigger than just the life of a TV celebrity. It is an inspiration to all those looking for a change.
Will her new life in Britain be a success? Will she return to TV once again? Only time will answer these questions, but one thing is for sure—Ellen DeGeneres never gives up!
